Accepted papers in TEMU2012 will be also published in IEEE Xplore.

Proposal submission: the sooner the better, no later than Nov. 15, 2010

IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN) will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Maui, Hawaii, August 1-4, 2011. Quality workshops are to be held in conjunction with ICCCN.

The workshops aim to explore special topics and provide international forums for scientists, engineers, and computer users to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results on hot and broad topics on computer communications and networks. Workshops for presenting papers from industrial companies and papers on design and implementations of systems and services are welcome. ICCCN is a premier international conference in the field and running a workshop in association with it is of high visibility.

The proceedings of the workshops program will be published, as the ICCCN 2011 main conference, by IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Digital Library.

The topics we are soliciting include, but are NOT limited to:

Please note that the proposals will be reviewed once received and we will try to make the decision and send the notification back as soon as possible. So submitting a proposal early has the advantage.

Particularly, early-bird proposals (by Oct. 15th) are encouraged and will be given higher priority.

For each approved workshop, at least one organizer must commit to attending and running the workshop on site. Please do not hesitate to send emails to the chairs if you have any questions.

The workshop proposal should include following information:

1. Title of the workshop

2. Workshop organizer(s): name, affiliation, address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail,

with the indication of the main contact person (no more than three chairs in one workshop)

3. A brief description of the content and technical issues

4. Planned format of the workshop, e.g. number of papers, sessions, keynotes, panels etc.

5. A description of the publicity and promotion plan

6. Tentative list of program committee members

7. Short bio of the main workshop organizers (up to 200 words)

Each workshop will start to advertise and distribute its CFP after receiving the approval notification.

Papers submitted to each workshop should be original, and, be peer reviewed by the program committee or external reviewers. An accepted paper must be registered and presented at the conference venue and must be limited to 6 pages in standard IEEE camera-ready format (double-column, 10-pt font). More updates will be posted on the ICCCN-2011 Web site.

ACM Workshop on Advanced Video Streaming Techniques for Peer-to-Peer Networks and Social Networking

Peer-to-peer (P2P) is a promising technology for video streaming, and offers advantages in terms of robustness, re-configurability and scalability. In this context, social networks and social services are emerging as a potential new driver for content delivery networks. Specifically, social networks potentially provide a new level of understanding and knowledge related to the interaction between people within a virtual space. Many emerging multimedia based services and applications have started to exploit the ‘social graph’ in new ways for establishing a basis for social recommendations, filtering etc.). As yet, one unexplored area of research relates to the exploiting the social graph for informing adaptive behaviour in P2P-based multimedia systems. On the other hand, the P2P video technology is still challenging, due to the need of reducing start-time and churn-induced instability, to the asymmetry of residential broadband connections, and to high packet loss rates due to router congestion and transmission errors on the physical network, node departure from the P2P overlay, strict timing out due to real time visualization. The lack of guarantee about the actual delivery of the data may cause drops in the reproduction quality and service outages. The workshop objective is to solicit novel contributions on all aspects of P2P-based video coding, streaming, and content distribution which is informed by social networks.

- Advanced video coding techniques for real-time P2P applications: layered/scalable video coding, multiple description coding, distributed source coding

Submission Guidelines
Papers should not exceed five pages in length, following the ACM proceedings format. Papers must be original and have not been published or under consideration for
publication elsewhere. Each paper will be reviewed by three members of the program committee, recognised for their competence in the field. Final decision about
inclusion in the workshop proceedings will be taken by the PC members exclusively
on the basis of the obtained reviews and levels of recommendation. Papers must be registered using the ACM Multimedia conference management software (http://www.edas.info/N9045).
Accepted papers will be included in the workshop’s proceedings which will be published together with the proceedings of the ACM Multimedia Conference 2010. Additionally, a special issue or an edited volume is planed based on the best papers of the workshop.

SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
Q2SWinet 2010 is the 6th Annual International Symposium on QoS and Security for Wireless and Mobile Networks held in conjunction with the 13-th Annual Conference on Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Wireless and Mobile Systems (MSWiM). *PhD Forum*

The second WoWMoM PhD Forum will be hosted at the Eleventh
International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (WoWMoM 2010). Doctoral students working in areas related to wireless, mobile and multimedia networking are solicited to submit an extended abstract comprising a summary of their research findings, work in progress and planned research. The forum will be a platform for PhD students to interact both with their peers as well as experienced researchers from industry. The forum will be organized as a poster session and will include a ’1-minute madness’ introduction by each student.

Current Ph.D. students are encouraged to submit extended abstracts. The Ph.D. student should be the sole author, although contributions of the advisor and others may be acknowledged in the extended abstract. Submissions will be reviewed to ensure quality and relevance. Authors of accepted submissions are expected to attend WoWMoM 2010 and present their poster at the PhD Forum. The best presentation at the Forum will receive a sponsored award, and there is likely to be travel assistance for some students. Accepted extended abstracts will appear in conference proceedings.

*Extended Abstract Submission:* Ph.D. students are invited to submit two-page extended abstracts that describe current research and potential contributions to theory and innovation in wireless, mobile and multimedia networking. Submissions are due by April 1st, 2010. Extended abstracts should include the author’s name, affiliation, and email address. Submissions must be PDF files and must be written in English. Submissions should adhere to the ACM format and be no more than two pages in length (all inclusive).**

|| Scope ||
In its 10th year, the International Workshop on Wireless Local Networks (WLN) builds on a proven record for being a strong venue on the subject matter. Held under the umbrella of the IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks, the workshops continues to solicit state-of-the-art research describing both theoretical and practical research endeavors. We also encourage visionary and experimental descriptions, in addition to work-in-progress and demos.

* Implementation and testbed issues.
* Network management architectures.
* Protocol design, including cross-layer and opportunistic approaches. * Wireless multihop networks, including mesh, ad hoc and sensor networks. * Wireless relay, including fixed and mobile elements.
* Integration and coexistence issues.
* Mobility management in both homogeneous and heterogeneous settings. * Resource management functionalities (CAC, reservation, scheduling, etc.) * Cognitive radios and dynamic spectrum networks.
* Performance evaluation, including analytical, simulation and testbed approaches.

|| Submission Guideliness ||
We seek original contributions that are have neither been
previously published or currently under review. Papers (up to 8 pages) should describe complete works in a self-contained manner with the intent to give an oral presentation. All accepted submissions will be published in the LCN’10 proceedings and the ieeeXplore portal.
